Explanation of Data List/How to Obtain Data Set

This NOAA Regional In Situ Ocean Data Inventory contains information regarding datasets that have been entered into the NOAA archives via the Hawaii/Pacific Islands Liaison Office. Note, each column header in the table can be clicked to sort by that category.

To obtain a copy of any dataset, one must presently use the official NOAA distribution point via the National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC).

Instructions for Accessing Data.
- 1. Identify the desired dataset(s) in the NOAA Regional Inventory Table.
- 2. Note the NODC Accession ID (third column).
  - If the field is blank, that means paper data were sent to NODC and have not yet been added to the electronic, posterity archive.
  - If the ID is prefixed by "ngdc", that means that the data were sent to the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) . Contact NGDC for a copy or email to the Hawaii Liaison.
- 4. Go to NODC Ocean Archive system.
- 5. Check the box next to "NODC Accession No."
- 6. Unclick all other checked boxes.
- 7. Click "continue" at the bottom of the page.
- 8. On the new page, fill in the desired NODC Accession No. You can leave the other fields as is.
- 9. Click "Search", and follow download instructions.
- 10. If you still can not find the data via NODC, contact the Hawaii liaison, Mr. Patrick Caldwell, for a copy.
