Explanation of Data List

This list contains information regarding datasets that have been entered into the NOAA archives via the Hawaii Liaison Office (LO), where all data are held online, yet not available through the Internet. Note, each column header can be clicked to sort by that category.

To obtain a copy of any dataset, one must presently use the official NOAA distribution point via the National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC).

Instructions for Accessing Data.
- 1. Identify the desired dataset(s) in the Hawaii LO Inventory Table.
- 2. Note the NODC Accession ID (second column).
  - If the field is blank, that means paper data were sent to NODC and have not yet been added to the electronic, posterity archive.
  - If the ID is prefixed by "ngdc", that means that the data were sent to the National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) . Contact NGDC for a copy or email to the Hawaii LO.
- 4. Go to NODC Ocean Archive system.
- 5. Check the box next to "NODC Accession No."
- 6. Unclick all other checked boxes.
- 7. Click "continue" at the bottom of the page.
- 8. On the new page, fill in the desired NODC Accession No. You can leave the other fields as is.
- 9. Click "Search", and follow download instructions.
- 10. If you still can not find the data via NODC, contact the Hawaii LO, Mr. Patrick Caldwell, for a copy.
